Serving and Pairing

Silky Beet Puree with Kohlrabi is an excellent side dish that can complement a variety of main courses. This dish’s vibrant pink color makes it an ideal pairing for darker-toned entrees, such as roasted dark meat, lamb or beef.

Aside from its striking appearance, the slight sweetness of the silky beet puree harmonizes delightfully with earthy and savory flavors. It’s a complementary side to roasted mushrooms, greens like kale or broccoli rabe, and hearty vegetarian dishes like lentil soup or wild rice pilaf.

Tips for Perfect Results

“Add some color and flavor to your next dinner party with this stunning dish”

Achieving the perfect silky texture of beet puree can be a bit tricky, but with some helpful tips and techniques, it is achievable. Here are some tips to ensure your beet puree turns out silky smooth every time.

Firstly, make sure to roast your beets until they are fork-tender. This will ensure that they blend easily into a silky smooth puree.

Another tip is to let the beets cool down before blending them. This will prevent the steam from building up in the blender jar and causing the lid to pop off. Additionally, it helps in maintaining the vibrant red color of the beets in the puree.

Using a high-speed blender can also make a huge difference in achieving a smooth puree. A powerful blender purees everything down to a silky consistency so that you don’t have to put up with any lumps or chunks of unblended material in your puree.

To help get an even smoother texture, add coconut milk or cream. The healthy fats present in coconut milk/cream makes your beet puree extra rich and creamy. Besides, it gives your puree a pleasant natural sweetness.

Lastly, keep scraping down the sides of the blender jar with a spatula when blending to make sure all parts of the beets blend evenly. Trust me; it makes a difference!

Follow these tips so that you do not only achieve your desirable silky smoothies but also enhance the flavor and nutritional value of your beet puree.
